From Idea to Publication: A Portfolio of Scientific Writing from Research to Reviews to Student Projects

Michelle DeCoux Hampton, PhD, RN

Overview

Nothing compares to the satisfaction of seeing a manuscript in print after deep immersion in a topic of interest. Each paper I’ve published is the result of work spanning from months to years, with colleagues and students whose insights and contributions enriched my learning about the phenomenon and approaches to the conduct of research and scholarship – a lifelong journey that included clinical interests in psychiatric mental health nursing, equity in access to nursing education, and scholarly writing development in graduate nursing education. I share a sampling below of several studies that I’ve led and/or supported the writing process as a mentor.
